It's a short life of trouble In a few short days we part It's a short life of trouble, dear girl For a boy with a broken heart. It's a short life of trouble, Better keep your vices down For they'll strangle and hold you, entangle and choke you, And leave you for dead on the ground. It's a short life of trouble When you blink it's halfway through So when you're on your deathbed, pray that you never forget, Just to your own self be true. It's a short life of trouble, And when that old death knocks for me, I'll come kicking and wailing, I'll scream at him, rail him Till he finally leaves me be It's a short life of trouble And it starts to break you down 2s and 3s life will hand you, even your God will damn you If you stop treading, you're gonna drown It's a short life of trouble And you build a collection of scars So when my day's come and that final bell's rung, They will put my face up in the stars.

Well it's the smallest things that start the avalanches, so I'm careful, yes I'm careful next to you. And we can build a home of mud and fallen branches, and our children can have noses just like you. Well, John F. Kennedy said we can build a nation Out of chewing gum and bricks and Mickey Mouse, So I will hold myself in rapt anticipation Of the day when I can tear down my old house. Well Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah Jesus Christ I love her so, Well Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah Jesus Christ I love her so. I'll paint a genuine Picasso out of land mines, and I'll leave the nose 5 miles from the ear. I'll recreate your favorite Pollock out of tan lines, and I'll become Bukowski after 7 beers. Well Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah Jesus Christ I love her so, Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah Jesus Christ I love her so.

about

"Home", Benjamin Fraser's second EP, has a raw and eclectic lo-fi sound, drawing inspiration from math-rock and bluegrass in equal parts. Home expands on many of the musical themes of Benjamin Fraser's prior release, "Cage", with the addition of lyrics and more complex instrumentation.
